This will make your starting mmr for the next season. Your promo games will greatly affect your mmr and you can placed as high as plat 1. –
When preseason ranked is up, you just pick up where you left off from. When the season officially starts, they’ll do a soft-reset. As others have said, ranked will go down long enough for them to record the stats and then it will come back up with the new patch, presumably. So any games you play until the new season starts are worth about half.
