I would say completing the train is equal to 10-15% at best. If you know what to do you can beat that part in a couple of minutes. And yes, just like RE1 there is a lot of backtracking within the game. Even though there is no need to go back to the training facilty (the “castle” after the train) when you are in the final section of the game.
