@TyraxLightning There is currently no way to upgrade any Edition of the game outside EA Play Pro. The only work-around would be to refund the Battlefield 2042 Standard Edition and purchase the Edition you want.

The only thing I can think of is that there MIGHT be an upgrade option AFTER the game launches, If this happens it’ll likely be in the DLC section on the steam store page. As you can’t refund, this is a steam issue mainly and given your refund history it shouldn’t really be that surprising.
You can still buy the Gold Edition but you still have to pay full price for it. If you already accepted the gift than I think it’s too late for your friend to refund it. I would try calling Steam directly and talk to them about it but either way you would still have to pay full price for the Gold Edition.

There’s no way to upgrade game editions at the moment. Do not know about steam but on Origin not possible at this time. I had to cancel and re-order to change the edition.
