No, it doesn’t. Your rank only gets invisible and you’ll have to win a game to display it again. The first game you have to win affects your rank a lot more than an ordinary game though, if you lose it you can rank down 1-2 ranks just like that. If you had won the first match you played, you’d have kept your previous rank (MG2).

Once you reach level 40, you’ll get a notification in your game menu saying that you can reset your progress and get the Medal, which you can then display in your profile.
