Grab the Bob-omb in his back, and then throw him to damage him. Do not throw him off of the mountain. Immediately after throwing him, jump in front of him, with your back to him. Once he gets up from your throw, double jump backwards over his head so you can immediately grab him again. After throwing him 3 times, the star will spawn.
