RE7 is essentially a “quasi-reboot”. It stripped everything down to the basics. No more globetrotting adventures or insane blockbuster set pieces. Instead, it’s focusing on a more confined story while also expanding the Resident Evil story.
RE 7 takes place after RE 6 but other then one character there is no reference to the other games. You did yourself a favor skipping RE 6, it’s not only a bad RE game it’s a bad game in general. “Always two there are, a master and an apprentice”
