I have recently beaten the game including all final weapons, Limits and superbosses in less then 40 hours. My last run of IX was around 70 hours. VII, IX and XII (HD versions) also give you a turbo option (can be toggled on and off at almost any time) that can make fights and travelling much much faster which can seriously cut down the playtime.
