EDIT: Don’t try the fix Paladinchanmentioned, about deleting the files in the _installer folder. it doesnt work. the best way to fix this, is to login to battlelog and join a server. it will ask you to activate and the screen will dissappear like before. but afterwards you will be able to join a server normally.

What works for me is after selecting a server to join I click on the BF3 icon on the task bar and it loads probably twice as fast. I have tried as much as possible listed above in conjunction with each other. Nothing at all works. The same three computers simply cannot connect to any LAN BF2 server, they just crash to the desktop. If it’s relevant in any way, I’m connecting over tunngle.
